Growing up with a tech dad and an artistic mom, becoming a digital designer felt almost inevitable.

My dad introduced me to Apple Paint when I was four, and it quickly became my favorite thing to do.

That was my first taste of what would become my life's calling: the intersection of software and design.

Fast forward ten years, and I began taking digital design seriously. I submitted work to 99designs, won contests, and landed freelance clients.

Getting paid for something I loved so deeply, at just fourteen years old, felt almost too good to be true.

In that moment, I knew this was what I wanted to build my career around.

But having such clear direction from a young age came at a cost. I lost interest in school, and my grades plummeted.

While my classmates were still figuring out their futures, I was consumed by a craft I couldn't stop thinking about.

I stayed in school only to avoid disappointing my parents, friends, and teachers.

By senior year, at eighteen, I'd had enough. One day I walked out the main gate of my high school and didn't return.

I took my education into my own hands, continuing to work with clients and build my skillset in digital design. Years later, I still love it every day—just like I did on my father's computer when I was four.
